Eddie D. Lowe is the Supervisor of FTTX Implementation and Standards at Corning Optical Communications and holds both a North Carolina General Contractor License Qualifier and a Public Utilities–Communications Qualifier.
Eddie is a seasoned fiber‑optic professional with nearly two decades of experience in network design, construction, and implementation. He has been with Corning Optical Communications since March 2007, building a career that spans both field execution and engineering leadership.
Throughout his tenure at Corning, Eddie has held progressively responsible roles including Field Engineer, Construction Manager, and Senior Outside Plant Engineer. These positions provided him with deep, hands‑on expertise across aerial and underground outside‑plant deployments, contractor oversight, and large‑scale network builds.
Eddie currently serves as Supervisor, FTTX Implementation and Standards, where he leads a team responsible for designing FTTH projects for Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers. His group also provides permit drafting and technical support to customers to accelerate both aerial and underground fiber deployments while ensuring compliance with local and utility requirements. Prior to joining Corning, Eddie retired from the United States Army, bringing a strong foundation of leadership, discipline, and operational planning to his civilian career. He also spent three years as a Maintenance Supervisor with CSX, further strengthening his background in infrastructure operations and team leadership.
