John Greene is a seasoned executive with 50 years of leadership experience in the ICT industry and rural development. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Rural Development Mission Area of USDA, appointed by President Trump in 2025. As COO, he manages the back-office functions for RD, supporting the Rural Utilities Service, Rural Housing Service, Rural Business Cooperative Service, and State Operations. John also serves as the Special Advisor to the Undersecretary of Rural Development for Precision Agriculture, Broadband, and AI. Previously he was CEO and Co-Owner of Mytra Consulting, where he advised clients on market expansion, regulatory compliance, and technical strategy. Prior to that, he led New Lisbon Holdings and New Lisbon Telephone Company as Chief Executive Officer, driving transformative growth, including a 13-fold revenue increase and the successful deployment of 100% fiber-to-the-home networks. Mr. Greeneās expertise spans strategic planning, acquisitions, broadband network design and deployment, and all corporate operations. He holds a B.A. in General Science from North Central College and an Information Technology Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. He is married with four grown children and one grandchild. He currently lives in Rural Indiana and has an apartment in Washington DC.
