Sarah Sullivan serves as an Advisor to The Broadband Council, where she advances efforts to expand reliable broadband access and demonstrate its transformative potential. Guided by her passion for solving connectivity challenges, she applies her technical expertise through community engagement and education to help communities understand and use broadband to improve access to learning, healthcare, economic opportunity and public safety, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Sarah brings 28 years of telecommunications experience in designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing core and edge networks. She has held both technical and leadership roles at MCI, Cavalier, Intellifiber, PAETEC, and Windstream, earning multiple engineering honors including the MCI Summit Club Award and Windstream’s Network Engineering Distinguished Service Award. In addition to her advisory work, she is the Owner and Managing Director of GAZED Technologies, where she leads efforts to design, optimize, and modernize complex telecom infrastructure. Since 2019, Sarah has been deeply engaged in initiatives to broaden participation in technology and create more inclusive work environments. She’s an active member of BICSI and volunteers with professional organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Women in Technology (WIT), and How Women Lead. Sarah holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Mary Washington and a MS in Information Systems Technology from Coastal Carolina University.
