Pete is responsible for Inside Sales across the United States at Ciena. He brings more than 18 years of experience in the IT and networking industry, with a career focused on leading sales, business development, channel, and architecture teams across the U.S. Regional Service Provider, Enterprise, Tribal, State & Local Government, and MSO markets.
Throughout his career, Pete has also taken on cross functional stretch assignments in Sales Operations, Strategy and Planning, and Finance, providing him with a broad, enterprise wide perspective on building and scaling successful organizations.
Over the past three years at Ciena, Pete served in a Business Development leadership role, partnering with regional service providers, Tribal Nations, engineering and outside plant (OSP) construction firms, resale partners, OSS/BSS companies, and private equity firms. His work focused on expanding internet connectivity for unserved and underserved communities across the United States.
In his current role, Pete’s focus is on helping Enterprise customers, U.S. Regional Service Providers, and Tribal Nations design and deploy optical networking solutions that support AI workloads, data center connectivity, and middle mile broadband initiatives.
Pete lives in Holly Springs, North Carolina with his wife of 21 years, their two children, and his father-in-law. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and playing games with his family, throwing cornhole, fishing, and attending live music events.
