Alice Sanchez is a Security Engineering Technical Leader within the Security and Trust Organization at Cisco, where she focuses on security compliance. A proud descendant of Pomo, Choctaw, and Hawaiian heritage, Alice masterfully bridges the gap between high-level technical security and profound community advocacy.
At Cisco, Alice serves as the Global Lead for the Native American Network (NAN). In this role, she drives cultural change by fostering an inclusive community for Native employees and allies. Her leadership extends to creating pathways for success through mentorship and recruitment initiatives designed to increase Native representation across the technology sector.
Alice is deeply passionate about bridging the digital divide for Indian Country. In her work involving Broadband and Tribal Connectivity, NAN focuses on deploying secure, sustainable infrastructure in remote tribal communities. By navigating complex technical and regulatory hurdles, she ensures that technology serves as a vital tool for economic development, education, and cultural preservation within indigenous territories.
Beyond her professional achievements, Alice is a dedicated leader in environmental and cultural advocacy. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Elem Indian Community, focusing on the mission to remediate the nation’s #1 Superfund site located on her reservation. Furthering her family's legacy of service, she also serves as a Board Member for the Intertribal Friendship House in Oakland—an organization founded by her grandmother. Through these roles, Alice continues to champion environmental justice, cultural continuity, and digital equity for all.
