Ramsey Alwin
As CEO, Ramsey has focused NCOA on improving the lives of nearly 30 million older adults. Alwin has testified before Congress on the Older Americans Act reauthorization and on supporting older workers and has been interviewed by top media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, MarketWatch, USA Today, and CNN.com. Honors include being named a PBS Next Avenue Top Influencer in Aging and being recognized among The NonProfit Times’ 2024 Power & Influence Top 50. Under her leadership, NCOA is working to ensure that every older adult has the opportunity to age well. A seasoned thought leader and policy advocate, Alwin has changed the way people think about older adult poverty and economic security. She speaks in support of legislation that broadens access to benefits, ensures quality health care, and enables older adults to achieve financial stability through work and retirement savings.
Alwin returned to NCOA as CEO in 2020, where she had previously served as Vice President of Economic Security before directing financial resilience global thought leadership at AARP. In previous roles, Alwin was Director of National Economic Security Programs at Wider Opportunities for Women, Director of Program Services at the National Association of State and Community Services Programs, and Foundation Board Specialist at the National Alliance for Black School Educators. Currently, Alwin serves on the Executive Committee of the UN NGO Committee on Aging, World Economic Forum’s Longevity Economy Steering Committee, the America250 Health and Wellness Advisory Council, Generations United’s Board of Directors, and the National Academy of Social Insurance Finance Committee.
Alwin holds a BA from Simmons University and a master’s degree from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
