Cole McAndrew serves as Senior Policy Analyst for the Virginia Office of Broadband. Cole leads policy development for the Office’s broadband expansion programs, including deployment and non-deployment initiatives under the Commonwealth’s $1.48 billion allocation from the federal Broadband Equity Access and Deployment program. Cole is also responsible for policy for the state-level Virginia Telecommunications Initiative, which has invested more than $850 million in broadband infrastructure expansion since 2017. Together, these programs leverage combined state and federal funds in pursuit of universal broadband access in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and have connected over 210,000 previously-unserved homes to-date. Cole initially joined the Office of Broadband in 2022 as a Virginia Management Fellow, where he played a key role in the Office's broadband affordability and adoption initiatives.
