Brian Mitchell is a Principal Consultant at ITG Communications, where he provides strategic, technical, and regulatory advisory services to clients navigating federal broadband programs, including BEAD. He brings extensive experience in the telecommunications and broadband sector, with a strong focus on government funding, grant compliance, and large‑scale infrastructure planning and deployment. Brian served as Director of the Nevada State Broadband Office within the Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation and Technology, where he was appointed by and served as a senior advisor to three consecutive Nevada Governors of both parties. In this role, he developed and launched the High-Speed Nevada Initiative, a more than $900 million effort to achieve universal connectivity by braiding ten state, federal, and private funding sources. Brian oversaw the planning, procurement, and deployment of the 2,600‑mile Nevada Middle Mile Network connecting major population centers and more than 200 state facilities. He also led the planning, outreach, solicitation, and execution of Nevada’s BEAD program from inception through Final Proposal approval and was responsible for compliance, monitoring, and federal reporting across ARPA, CPF, BEAD, NTIA Middle Mile, and Universal Service programs. In addition, he led the development of Nevada’s dig‑once and joint trenching legislation to support efficient broadband deployment statewide.
