Rogerio Lopes, is Senior Director of International Business at Sumitomo Electric Lightwave, and Head of CALA Region – Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2010, he has led Sumitomo Electric Lightwave's CALA Regional Sales & Business Development, including LNP and Fiber Optic Division Products, also Optical Cables, Fusion, Connectivity, Enterprise, Data Center, Blown Fiber (Micro Fibers), solutions for Industry, Utilities, Government, etc. Rogerio Lopes was appointed Ambassador of the FBA LATAM Chapter, where he has actively working on the expansion of Fiber Broadband in the CALA region, and is one of the FBA LATAM Chapter’s founding members. As a member of the Board of the FBA LATAM Chapter, formerly known as the FTTH Council, he led initiatives to promote the adoption of FTTH in the CALA region, serving as Director of Technology and Relations with the main Operators and regional players (FBA LATAM members). Rogério Lopes, is co-author of the best technologies and practices in FTTH networks developed by the Board of the FBA LATAM Chapter, specifically addressing the issues of fusion and connectivity. Document used in the framing and implementation of fiber optic networks, by Carriers, ISPs, municipalities, state-owned companies, in the CALA region. He is a Master Instructor at FBA LATAM, where since 2011, where he has been certifying hundreds of engineers and professionals throughout Latin America and the Caribbean in regional training.
