Deb Rand is a Managing Director at Kinetic Ventures, a private equity firm dedicated to supporting rural broadband expansion. Kinetic partners with broadband providers that are scaling their operations or seeking capital to participate in state and federal grant programs, and holds minority investments in a number of rural broadband companies including Highline, RiverStreet, Alyrica, and Dragonfly.
Before joining Kinetic, Deb served as CEO of the South/West region for Highline Internet, a broadband provider operating across Colorado, Michigan, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, and Georgia. She has also served as CEO of USConnect Holdings, a provider with incumbent broadband operations in rural markets. In both roles, Deb led fiber overbuilds and pursued grants and other funding opportunities to grow existing operations.
Prior to her executive roles, Deb was a consultant with JSI Capital Advisors at John Staurulakis Inc., providing guidance to clients on mergers and acquisitions within the telecom sector.
