Eric Bathras, Chief Technology Officer for Infrastructure at the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT), brings over 30 years of experience in broadband networks across the public and private sectors. In his role, he leads critical state infrastructure programs, including networkMaryland, MD FiRST, Datacenter Services and DoIT's Infrastructure Agreements.
His career is defined by leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex, large-scale technology initiatives. Since rejoining DoIT, Eric has driven statewide modernization efforts, including serving as Chair of Maryland's Digital Infrastructure Group (DIG), where he has helped redefine how states plan, fund and execute digital infrastructure expansion through a balanced "Goldilocks" approach.
An established leader in the field, Eric authored Maryland's first Broadband Expansion Plan and is a frequent panelist and presenter at national forums, including Fiber Broadband Association, National Governor's Assocation, Broadband Nation Expo, The Wharton School of Business and BICSI's National Conference.
