Katherine Latham is CEO and Managing Partner of Talman Consultants where she leads firmwide strategy, client engagement, and growth while remaining deeply involved in complex engineering and infrastructure advisory work. With a foundation in civil engineering and extensive experience delivering large-scale telecommunications and FTTH programs, Katherine brings an executive-level perspective grounded in technical rigor, constructability, and real-world deployment constraints. She advises clients on market entry, deployment planning, permitting and right-of-way risk, stakeholder coordination, and operational optimization across multi-jurisdictional environments.
Katherine also leads Talman’s engineering-driven advisory services supporting private equity firms and operating partners investing in telecommunications infrastructure. She is frequently engaged from pre-acquisition technical diligence through post-close execution, evaluating network feasibility, constructability, deployment sequencing, and alignment between engineering strategy and projected returns. Her work often positions Talman as the connective tissue between investors, operators, municipalities, utilities, and construction partners.
Katherine is a member of the Forbes Chicago Business Council and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serves on the External Advisory Board of the University of Illinois Grainger College of Engineering’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, and serves on the Executive Board of the Off the Street Club.
She has been recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as a Notable Woman in STEM, named one of the Chicago Business Journal’s Women of Influence, and honored by the Women Presidents’ Organization as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned and Led Companies. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
